  • Model: SL-BC

Hand-dipped pure beeswax taper candles are perfect for many reenactment periods.  The tapers are hand-dipped (not molded) made by a small group of monks in a hermitage in Alaska. The beeswax comes from locals in Alaska who donate it to the hermitage. Sold in pairs (2 candles)

HISTORY- The first candle molds appeared in Paris in the 15th C. Made by ‘whitesmiths’, molds held multiple candle tubes, with wicks threaded thru and secured before being filled with wax. While better quality candles were molded on a small scale, dipping remained the primary way to make candles until mass production took off in the 19th C.
