Cotehardie, 'Alexander', M2O, Limited edition fabric

Primarily inspired by the long, fitted and buttoned garment worn by men in the 'Romance of Alexander' dated 1338-1345. (Bodleian Library, MS. Bodl. 264).  Similar garments appear in ‘Roman de la Rose’ and countless manuscripts all over Europe c.1330-1360.

This is a transitional garment bridging the earlier shapeless tunic and the more fitted garments which developed later. The dropped waistline, slim fit and long, attentuated lines mark this as quintessentially Gothic.  Unlined, with rows of closely spaced round buttons closing the front and sleeves.  Slightly wide jewel neckline.

The fit is everything, so each garment is made to order- we keep none in stock.   Anticipated turnaround is 2-4 weeks, but please enquire when you place your order if you have deadline considerations.

• Small - 40" chest, 34" waist

• 3X Large - 50" chest, 44" waist
• 4X Large - 52" chest, 46" waist

• Measure yourself with a tape measure prior to ordering. For correct pricing, choose the size closest to your measurements from the drop down menu. Please note your measurements in the ‘Comments’ section of the order form so we can custom size your garment. 
• Please note that like a suit or uniform, we offer this garment in "Regular" and "Long". Gentlemen over 6', as well as those who normally take a "Long" suit or uniform should order the long version of their size.
• Please order carefully, this garment is custom made for you and as such is not returnable.
• The green linen with dark green and charcoal windowpane check is limited quantity and when it is gone it cannot be replaced.  Order now to avoid disappointment.
