Removable sleeves are worn pinned to the short sleeve of the gown. Made of linen, perfect for hot summer events and middling portrayals where brocade is too hot to wear or too high status. These sleeves are beautifully made and completely REVERSIBLE- it's like getting 2 pairs of sleeves for the price of one!

Although commonly seen in many images from the period, pin on sleeves are most famously seen in

  • The portrait of Mary Magdalene by Rogier van der Weyden (rich polychrome cut velvet, 1450)
  • The Deposition altarpiece (solid damask, van der Weyden, 1443)
  • The Seven Sacraments (solid wool or linen, van der Weyden, 1445-50)

Linen lined in linen, no tags or stitching shows on either side.

Comes with 2 dressing pins to secure the sleeves to the gown.

  • Small -  12" bicep, 18.5" long
  • Medium - 14" bicep, 18.5 long
