Early 15th C. coat based on images from Fiore dei Liberi's 'Fior di Battaglia', (J. Paul Getty Museum, Ms. Ludwig XV 13) and 'Flos Duellatorum' (Pisani Dossi Ms.).

Whether practicing plays, sparring, or grappling, this garment is clean, elegant and designed to work! It is made of heavy linen canvas fully lined with unbleached linen. The torso is shaped to the body without being tight, and a front inner lining of canvas offers basic protection against cuts and thrusts. Body closes at the base of the neck with a small round button, and the rest of the front closes invisibly with large flat buttons to the inside. (Button at the waist closes to outside for ease of dress)

The standing collar is lined in heavy canvas and closes with a small round button.

The sleeves are full without being excessively baggy. They taper to the wrist where they close snugly with 2 small round buttons. The sleeve is set into the body at and angle designed to offer full range of motion without drawing the waist up.
