Worn as an outer gown by the middle classes and as an undergown by the upper classes, short sleeved gowns of this type are seen throughout Europe from about 1440-1480. Our version is taken from the gown worn by Mary Magdalene in Rogier van der Weyden's "Deposition" and "Seven Sacraments" paintings.

Front laced bodice is bias cut for close fit, and the full circle skirt makes for very flattering and graceful lines on most body types.

As an added bonus each gown now comes with a coordinating hand-made lace with a metal chape **FREE**

(PLEASE NOTE: Model is wearing the gown as part of the 15th C. Gown Package, which includes the smock, sleeves and headwear.  To view the package, click on this link- 15th C. gown package)

These high quality garments have no visible machine stitching except for lacing eyelets. Wool or linen garments are suitable for reenactment use when eyelets are hand-whipped.
