Spoon, Pewter, 16th C baluster

This attractive spoon is of a very unusual size, being much smaller than most spoons of the period. The bauluster knop became popular during the Tudor period, the name deriving from the greek word for pomegranate which was an important royal badge. The original from which this replica is taken is in a private collection.
