 Ask a Question

This is a reconstruction of Couer's saddle as pictured in King Rene' of Anjou's "Book of Love". The construction is very similar to the saddle of Henry V in Westminster and the "Majorca" saddle in Madrid.

The seat is 6" off the horse's back. This one's built for Jeffrey's horse Petrus, but with a special type of pad it easily fits a variety of horses.

Jeffrey has used this saddle for jousting in tournaments at the Royal Armouries Museum and the Tower of London, as well as the American Sword of Chivalry Tournament in California.

Wood, steel, fabric, leather, brass, gold.

Jeffrey Hedgecock, 2007-8
