Gown, Viking apron (Hangeroc), Wool-look fabric

The pattern for our 'Hangeroc' or Viking Apron dress is extrapolated from the description of extant pieces from the Hedeby find. Garment is made up of 6 panels: 2 unshaped rectangles center front and center back, plus 4 tapered side pieces which match the description given for the Hedeby find (i.e. A 'funnel' shaped piece that is straight on one side, rectangular at the top and flaring out from where the waist is supposed to have been).

This hangeroc is made is made of an easy-care washable fabric which looks like a light wool even on close inspection. The two-tone herringbone weave is available in mulberry/tan, moss/tan and walnut/black.

(Stephania is wearing a pale woad early gown under a mulberry/tan herringbone hangeroc, and a plain silk Jorvik hood. Angelique is wearing a salmon gown under  a pale green surcoat)
