Woodblock Print, Crucified Christ

The original was from a book, however prints were also printed separately and could be pasted into books or used as devotional or medatative objects throughout the home. Prints came in all different sizes, and this reproduction is approximately 80% of original. Print features the Bleeding Heart Flowers, or Our Lady's Heart (Germany) symbolising her sorrow and the sorrow of Jesus in the shields on either side of the crucifix.

All Guild of St. Luke prints are hand drawn from original sources. The printing blocks are cut by hand. Each print is made one at a time on a hand press on hand made conservation paper used for repairing/restoring paper manuscripts and early printed works. Each print is a high quality reproduction made as close to the original in design and manufacture as possible.
