Gloves, 3 Finger (Split mittens)

3 finger gloves-detail3 finger gloves are most commonly seen on agricultural workers and shepherds, the speculation being that they are a form of working gloves that still allows a bit of finger control.  This type of glove is also seen on falconers.  3 finger gloves are depicted in natural browns and bright colours, which, along with evidence provided by extant gloves and mittens,  suggests they were probably made in both leather and wool.

Customer Greg Less models our gloves and dagged hood as part of his early 15th C. impression, based in the images in Gaston Phoebus' 'Book of the Hunt'.  Greg says 'the three finger gloves kept my hands warm while hauling stuff in and out of the event site in the snow, and looked AWESOME in the process. Thanks!'
