Awl, Bone

Awls are used in sewing to force the weave of the fabric open to make an eyelet hole. Once the threads are spead open, stitches around the edge hold the hole open, forming an eyelet. Because the fabric is not cut, the eyelet is strong and resists ripping.

A must have for every sewing kit, these beautiful awls are made of polished bone and are a pleasure to behold and use.

Hand made of bone. Approx. 3" (7.6 cm) long. Due to the handcrafted nature of this item, colour, size and design will vary from piece to piece.
