Points Kit, Civilian dressing points

In late medieval Europe, garments were joined or fastened with short lengths of braided string or leather thongs called 'points'.  These 'points' had metal caps called 'chapes' at each end. The chapes made the points easy to thread thru eyelets which were worked in garments. 'Dressing points' were used to fasten hose, doublets, braies, pourpoints, etc.

Commercially woven material looks great, offering those who do not finger braid the ability to add these correct historical accessories to their kit easily and affordably.

Each kit contains materials and instructions to make 12, 22" dressing points with a metal chape on each end. Simply cut the braided cord to the desired length, place the end in the chape, crimp the chape around the cord, and add a drop of glue.*

Each kit makes 12 points up to 22" long (exclusive of metal chape): 

• 7.5 yards of braided cotton cording 
• 24 brass chapes  
• 1 instruction sheet 

*Glue is not included in the kit
