Product 23/27
Thorsbjerg is the southernmost of the great war booty bog sites, located in Schleswig-Holstein just north of Süderbrarup. Until 1863 a part of Denmark, the area is now part of Germany and findings from Thorsbjerg Mose are held by the Landesmuseum in Schloss Gottorf, Schleswig.
These trousers are based on the archaeological remains from Thorsbjerg Mose, currently housed in the Landesmuseum. Although dating remains uncertain, circa 500 AD seems to be commonly accepted.
Made of high quality wools, our reproduction retains most of the details of the sophisticated cut of the original, including the crotch gusset composed of 2 pieces, applied waistband and belt loops. The fit is slim through the leg yet roomy in the seat, allowing for freedom of movement while fighting or riding. There is no opening, the waistband is sized to slide up over the hips and be secured around the waist by a belt.
Please note: These trousers do not have feet. The attached feet found in the archaeological remains can be added as a custom option. Select 'add feet' from the drop down menu below.
