Greeting Card, "Anticipation"

Lance in hand, attention fully focused on his opponent at the far end of the
lists, a knight - in full armour, crowned with his fantastic heraldic crest
- inwardly battles to control his, and his horse's, excitement and nerves,
split seconds before this moment of apparent calm explodes into a blur of
adrenalin pumping action.....

The crest - a harpy - is that of Sir John Astley, a renowned jouster of the
mid-15th Century, and the armour is based on English tomb effigies of the
period.
