Gluckshaus

Gluckhaus or Gluckshaus is High German for ‘house of fortune’ and is a classic tavern gambling game. Coins are placed on a grid of ten numbered squares, and money is lost and won on the roll of two dice.  Rolling the number of the square wins you the coin on the square but if the square is empty you lose a coin by having to place one there. The King, The Wedding, The Lucky Pig all make life interesting as does the mysterious number 4 (there isn’t one!).

The game can be played with counters or tokens called jettons. Modern pennies which have been heated and hammered make excellent jettons! Coins can also be used in place of jettons.

Printed fabric board, two (2) wooden dice and an instruction sheet comes packed in a cardboard tube. Researched and hand made by reenactor craftsmen Gothic Green Oak in England.
