Beaker, prunted

A cylindrical beaker shape with applied prunts which was used throughout the late medieval period in Europe.

A glass of this shape is contained in the collection of the Corning Glass Museum in Corning, New York (inset photo, right).   A similarly shaped glass dated to the 2nd or 3rd quarter of the 16th C. is shown in Glas des Mittelalters und Der Renaissance Die Sammlung Karl Amendt (Glass of the Middle Ages and Renaissance Period The Karl Amendt Collection) Mit einem Beitrag von (With an essay by) Helmut Ricke (Page 192).

Budget priced and less delicate than some of our other glassware, this glass is sturdy enough for everyday use and will travel safely to reenactments and events in your basket.  Holds a full 14 oz., which makes it perfect for reenactors for whom a usual reproduction glass is too small.

Cylindrical body with applied prunts. Medium green glass.
