Braiding kit- 'This Flat String'

A variation of the ‘V Bowes’ braid, from a mss. dated 1600.  Produces a strong, flat braid.  When made up in two or more colours shows a beautiful alternating chevron pattern.  Very popular for friendship bracelets.

Make the projects in the kit to learn the pattern, and once you have the technique use it to make arming or dress points, purse or hat strings, friendship bracelets or a host of other useful and decorative cords. 

Kit makes 3  braids approx 8” long.  Each braid is finished with either  a slide latch clip, a key ring or a lanyard clip as shown in photo.  Colours will vary from photo.

Skill level- Moderately difficult - Prior fingerbraiding experience suggested.

Each kit contains:

1- plastic slide latch clip
1- split key ring
1- lanyard clip
15- strands of acrylic yarn.  Cut to length, ass’t colours
1- shoe lace
1- Sheet- Intro to finger braiding
1- Sheet- General instructions for finger loop braiding
1- Diagram sheet for  ‘A Round Lace of V Bowes’
