Bowl, sm. utility

Cooks will find these small utility bowls invaluable for condiments, terrines, butter, conserves, pickles and more. Also perfect at table for eating stews and pottages. The bowls are a simple and utilitarian shape typical of the medieval period in Europe. They are made of terra cotta coloured clay and have a clear glaze inside which extends over the lip and part way down the side. The sides and bottom of the bowl are unglazed.

Pair with waxed covers of unbleached linen impregnated with beeswax to keep contents clean and dry. Covers crimp over jar edge and will cling if heated slightly with the hand. (Covers are sold separately and are not included with bowls)

MADE IN THE USA / SHOP LOCAL! - These are made in our home town of Ramona by a cottage artisan.
