Spaudlers (shoulders), Italian, circa 1470, Spring Steel

Based on Italian examples in the Kienbusch Collection, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

Articulated on internal leathers and slotted rivets. Rolled edges are hand hammered. Polished finish.

These pieces come completely ready to wear, including both the leather tab at the top for pointing to your arming doublet, and the straps with historically correct bronze buckles riveted to the bottom lame.

Spring steel - .050 (.5mm) cops, .042 (.75mm) lames. Fully hardened and tempered.
