Cuirass, Pauldrons and Vambraces in Flemish style, c.1470

After examples in Lucerne Switzerland, and Curtatone Italy. This "half harness" incorporates a cuirass of Italian form, but German configuration (the breast is of 2 pcs. connected with a slotted rivet and internal leathers) making it conform to the concept of Flemish or Italian export armour. The arm harness with its large left reinforcing 'garde brace' is of typical Italian form, as are the large pauldrons with their flanged reinforcing plates.

Mild steel.
