Armour, Full, Italian (Milanese), circa 1470

Full armour after a harness residing in the Sanctuary of the Madonna, Mantua, Italy, #B2. Made for the Frazier International History Museum in Louisville KY.

This armour features an armet with a bowl raised from a single plate of steel, functional arret (lance rest), and reinforces for both pauldrons and left couter. The historical interpreters at the Frazier Museum use this armour for their "Arming the Knight" presentations and will also use it in combat demonstrations beginning in 2007. It was created to specifically fit the wearer who is the head of the interpretation department. (photos courtesy of the Frazier Museum)
