Undergown, Sleeveless, 15th century

No one knows for certain what was worn under the V neck gown, so we've designed a 15th C. undergown that gives the correct impression. Shaped much like a classic strapless evening gown, the short, fitted bodice controls the bustline and fills in the front of the overgown without gapping. The bodice laces up the back for a perfect fit, and has an attached A-line skirt of fine fabric which can be seen when the hem of the overgown is lifted. We've turned the mysterious black ribbon seen at the throat in period artwork into a "strap" which supports the bodice's center front edge. Although we can only speculate as to the historical accuracy of the design, we're sure you'll agree that when worn under our V necked overgown the impression is completely authentic!
