Elegant beaker embellished with coloured glass accents reflecting Middle Eastern influence. Copied from an original formerly in the Krug Collection.
It was during the Crusades that Europeans first met the luxury of Middle Eastern glasswork. Very sober and elegant, often enameled or decorated with colored glass, it inspired glass masters all over Europe.
This graceful beaker was copied from an original in the ex - Krug Collection (Switzerland), sold by Sotheby's (New York) to a private Koweitian collector in 1991.

Upwardly tapering cylindrical shaped body in pale green glass. Applied thread decoration of encompassing bands and zigzags, emerald green glass "gem" dots and emerald green rim.
5” tall, 3.25" at rim. Approx 12 oz. capacity.
