Belt, leather, 1350-1400

3/4” wide leather belts with hand made brass fittings. Buckles and chapes are based on objects in the collection of the Museum of London:

Composite frame buckles with plates are made in the style of the following examples, although they are not an exact duplicate of any one of the examples:

The strap end with forked spacer is made in the style of the following examples, although they are not an exact duplicate of any one of the examples:

‘ihc’ stamping on the belt is copied from a leather girdle with stamped decoration, Museum of London BC72-2414 (89) & 3017 (150). Information may be found on page 43 of the MoL book.

60" length is overall length of belt- please indicate your exact waist measurement as taken with a tape measure and we will custom punch the tongue holes for you.

Belt fittings are hand made and assembled by Jeffrey Hedgecock in his workshop. Each belt is hand made and finished.
