Coronel, Rubber, 1'' socket

We offer these lance tips for use in jousting with "breaking tip" lances, where the tips are made of soft wood like balsa or pine. Similar coronels are used at the Royal Armouries Museum tournaments and by the 15th century UK reenactment group Destrier, in tournament, "A Plaisance", also call the Joust of Peace, that is, a joust with blunted lances. The object of this type of joust was usually to either shatter the lance on the opponent's shield, body or helm, or to unhorse him. We have based our copyrighted design on coronels pictured in jousting scenes in the Beauchamp Pageant, a chronicle of the 15th century magnate, Richard Beauchamp, the Earl of Warwick (d. 1453).

Our coronels are made of durable tough urethane rubber, with a durometer rating of 80shore, and an interior socket diameter of approximately 1" (25mm). The socket is mildly tapered to ensure a snug fit.

Sized to fit our balsa and hardwood lance tips, and other 1" diameter tips used in the IJL, IJA and other jousting groups.

2" diameter, 3" long.
